It's Time To Light Up Your Festive Season

It's December, which means it's officially time to welcome Christmas into our homes. It's time to put up the tree. It's time to enjoy family meals, celebrate time togetherness and put a little festive magic into our daily lives.

We've put together some cheerful home and party decor ideas, for you to use as inspiration to embrace the holiday spirit - after all, Christmas only comes once a year!

So seize the opportunity to adorn your home in beautiful decorations and Christmas twinkle lights and feast your eyes on this:

Have a non-traditional Christmas tree like this one. This is the perfect tree for a small room, as it takes up no floor space and you can also have some fun with mixing and matching decorations. Put it anywhere, on any wall - use LED battery-operated fairy lights and you won't have to worry about being near a plug-point to power up your lights!

Fill glass lanterns with strings of fairy lights for twinkling festive table centrepieces or party decor. The effect is simply stunning.

Get yourself some cute decorative pegs, a bunch of photo prints and a few strings of Christmas lights to make a gorgeous glowing photo wall.

This would look great in the bedroom or even the family living room. If you're having a family reunion over Christmas, it might be a good idea to get some photo prints done of everyone over the years, to inspire a "oh, remember when..." conversation in the dining room!

Transform the ordinary, using Christmas lights. Take an over-sized wooden monogram letter and wrap it with a string of lights. Display it on your mantelpiece or entrance hall table.

A Christmas light chandelier for the dining area? Yes please! Don't worry about running additional wiring - use battery-operated LED Christmas lights instead.

This is a quick and easy Christmas decor idea. A wire basket filled with pine cones, rustic tall twigs and a few bunches of twinkle lights. It's a great way to light up a dim corner of the room. Hang some Christmas decorations from the branches of the twigs and you've got yourself a cute non-traditional tree.

Bring the holiday spirit into your bedroom and string some Christmas lights on your headboard to add a twinkling ambiance.

Make your own standing luminaries and fill them with bunches of lights. These would work well in a child's room as a festive night light to keep the dark away.

Make stunning snowglobe-inspired decorations with these glass terrariums. You'll need large decorative jars, some Christmas tree decorations and lots of salt for the snow (both coarse and fine!). Have fun! (Tip: using battery-operated LED twinkle lights means you can close the lids on your jars!)

Using paper doilies, wire and Christmas lights is an easy inexpensive way to create a stunning Christmas wreath. Best of all, you can hang it on your front door and light it up at night with LED battery-operated fairy lights.

P.S: if you're planning a Christmas party, it might also be a good idea to get some party poppers!
